Leaky gut syndrome is a condition whereby the delicate lining of the digestive tract (specifically the small intestine) becomes damaged and incompletely digested proteins, toxins and bacteria can then cross the now damaged intestinal walls.

Problems ensue because a very large part of our immune system immediately surrounds the intestinal walls, standing at the ready to combat any type of foreign invader. L-Glutamine, the most abundant amino acid in the body, promotes healthy everyday tissue repair. In the gut, it maintains intestinal GI integrity by supporting the protective mucosal lining and maintaining healthy villous function.
This helps to ensure proper nutrient utilization while limiting the amount of toxins that pass through the intestinal barrier. Epithelial cells in the small intestines (enterocytes) use L-glutamine as their metabolic fuel which helps maintain mucosal growth, structure, and function.
N-acetyl-d-glucosamine is incorporated into glycosaminoglycans and glycoproteins that comprise the gut’s mucosal surface, maintaining healthy intestinal tissue.  N-acetyl glucosamine is a mucin precursor and has been shown to increase the production of mucus within the GI tract.
Gamma oryzanol provides beneficial support for gastric health and comfort. Gamma-Oryzanol can inhibit NF-kB translocation in LPS-stimulated Macrophages.[1]
